14ct Yellow and White Gold Oval Sapphire and Diamond Ring

A magnificent two-tone dress ring commanding attention with a generous 8.03ct natural blue sapphire in an oversized oval cut, held in a bold double-claw setting surrounded by a milgrain-edged diamond halo and set over a beautifully crafted yellow gold filigree scroll gallery. At 8 carats, this sapphire is a genuinely substantial stone that would be difficult to find at retail for anything close to the auction opening figure.

Centre Stone: 1 oval cut natural corundum (sapphire), 8.03ct (13.70mm x 11.65mm x 5.39mm, measured in setting), blue, medium dark tone, included. Vendor advises treatment status was not confirmed by the valuation certificate. Double claw set with milgrain halo.
Diamonds: 36 round brilliant cut natural diamonds, 0.64ct TDW, H-J colour, SI2-I1 clarity, bead set in a white gold milgrain-edged halo and diamond-set shoulders.
Metal: 14ct yellow gold body with white gold diamond settings, hallmarked 585. Cast construction. Total weight 5.30g.
Setting Style: Double-claw centre setting with milgrain halo over a decorative yellow gold filigree scroll basket gallery. Slightly upswept shoulders with bead-set diamonds transitioning to a plain polished yellow gold shank.
Condition: Very good. No visible damage or stone loss. Light surface wear consistent with use.
