14ct Two-Tone Gold Ethiopian Black Opal and Diamond Halo Ring

A spectacular cocktail ring featuring an impressive 4.93ct Ethiopian black opal with a vivid harlequin play-of-colour in bold flashes of green, red and blue set against a deep black body tone. Black body tone opals displaying harlequin patterning are among the most prized opal varieties; this stone also features an unusual faceted pear cut that creates a multi-dimensional prismatic effect not seen in standard cabochon opals. No crazing was observed on the stone surface.

Centre Stone: 1 pear cut (faceted) natural Ethiopian opal, 4.93ct (16.00mm x 10.25mm x 7.45mm, measured in setting), black body tone, opaque to semi-translucent clarity, harlequin play-of-colour displaying vivid greens, reds and blues with strong saturation and excellent colour distribution. No visible crazing. Yellow gold V-prong and claw set.
Opal Type: Ethiopian (Welo). Ethiopian opals are natural hydrophane opals. Please avoid prolonged exposure to liquids, oils and temperature extremes to maintain the stone in its current condition.
Diamonds: 25 round brilliant cut natural diamonds, 0.54ct TDW, G colour, SI clarity, claw set in a continuous pear-outline halo surrounding the opal.
Metal: 14ct yellow gold body (claws and gallery) with white gold diamond halo, hallmarked 585. Total weight 3.96g.
Setting Style: Open wire gallery construction with yellow gold supports beneath the opal. White gold diamond halo sits at girdle level. Open-back setting allows light access behind the stone.
Ring Size: Approx. UK/AUS size O (internal diameter 16.45mm, approx. US 7.5) per the independent valuation.
Condition: Excellent. No visible crazing, chips, or wear. All diamond settings intact.
