Just 1,311 bottles were produced worldwide, with this offering comprising Bottle No. 551, presented sealed in its original box.
The Rare Double Cask Edition series represents a carefully curated marriage of premium casks, allowing Sullivan's Cove's distillers to create whiskies that showcase both the individuality of the spirit and the harmony that can only be achieved through expert cask selection. Unlike the distillery's renowned single cask releases, each Double Cask expression is crafted to deliver remarkable consistency, depth and elegance while retaining the distinctive fruit-forward character that has earned Sullivan's Cove international recognition. Double Cask DC096 was bottled at 47.5% ABV, offering a beautifully rounded and approachable profile with exceptional maturity.
The nose is rich and expressive, opening with aromas of golden honey, ripe peach, baked apple and vanilla bean, layered with notes of butterscotch, toasted almonds and soft baking spices. The palate is silky and full-bodied, revealing flavours of salted caramel, malted biscuits, dried apricot, roasted hazelnuts and creamy milk chocolate, complemented by hints of orange zest, cinnamon and polished oak. The finish is long, refined and warming, lingering with impressions of vanilla fudge, toffee, gentle spice, toasted oak and sweet malt, leaving a beautifully balanced and satisfying conclusion.
