Description

An official 2001 Centenary of Federation commemorative medallion distributed to Australian primary school students as part of the national centenary celebrations. The medallion is struck in an aluminium-bronze alloy with a warm golden tone.



The obverse features a design of children playing together in a circle symbolising national unity, with "AUSTRALIA" at the top and the official Centenary slogan "IT'S WHAT WE MAKE IT" around the lower border. The design reflects the optimistic spirit of Australia's Federation centenary in 2001.



Sealed in its original blister-pack presentation card in colourful gradient (blue through orange) with the official 1901-2001 Centenary of Federation logo and "Centenary of Federation Medallion - For Primary School Students" text. This medallion is not legal tender and carries no face value. Surviving examples in original sealed packaging are moderately scarce as most were opened or lost by children.
