The nose is highly expressive and complex, offering a classic amalgam of dark berry fruit, stewed plum, and blackcurrant, seamlessly integrated with notes of dark chocolate, mocha, and savory cedar. Layers of Asian spice, leather, and hints of tobacco leaf add further intrigue. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intense, showcasing a concentrated core of black fruits supported by firm, fine-grained tannins that have softened with age. Nuances of licorice, vanilla, and a characteristic mintiness lead to a long, authoritative, and savory finish.

Drinking window: Drinking beautifully now. While it has the structure to hold for several more years, most critics suggest it is currently in its peak drinking window and should be enjoyed by 2026–2030 to fully appreciate its mature fruit character.
