Description:

RARE 3 PRONGED 2000 YEAR OLD ANCIENT ROMAN IRON ARROWHEAD SPEAR POINT

This Three Pronged Spear Point Was Expensive To Make And Was Generally Used By Elite Combat Troops. Romans Primarily Used Three-Pronged (Trilobate) Arrowheads During The Imperial Period (1St Century Ad And Later), Particularly When Engaging In, Or Defending Against, Armored Enemies On The Borders Of The Empire. They Are Often Found In Archaeological Sites Associated With Sieges, Such As At Masada. These Iron, Three-Bladed Heads Were Designed Specifically For Armor Penetration Such As Chain Or Leather, Which Standard Leaf-Shaped Arrows Could Not Easily Penetrate. These Arrowheads Were Invented By The Scythian And Persians And Made Of Bronze And Were Adopted By The Romans Due To Their Superior Effectiveness In Penetrating Armour Compared To Traditional Roman Weapons.
