The pit lane at night is one of my favourite places to shoot at Le Mans, as you have the time to get creative, using slow shutter speeds to enhance the already vibrant scene.”



ABOUT ANDREW HALL
A lifelong motorsport fan. As a kid, Andrew spent many weekends sitting on The Hill at Oran Park watching the legends of Australian motorsport battle for supremacy.

A foray into two wheels via motocross presented Andrew with some opportunities to indulge in his other passion, photography. Photographing motorcycle events at Oran Park led to Andrew being accredited for the first ever Australian round of the World Superbike championship back in 1988. Andrew contributed to Two Wheels Magazine in the late 1980s and early 1990s before returning to the four-wheel world in 1990, becoming a preferred freelance photographer at Chevron Publishing.

Andrew’s images appeared in numerous Chevron publications and in particular, Motor Racing Australia Magazine and the annual “The Great Race” book of the Bathurst 1000 race.

Andrew expanded his photographic coverage to include the Australian Grand Prix from 1993 to 2016 and the Gold Coast “Indy” event from 1992 to 2006. After getting a taste of endurance sports car racing at the “Race of a 1000 Years” event in Adelaide on New Years Eve 2000, Andrew set his sights on the fabled 24 Hours of Le Mans. Andrew first attended Le Mans in 2001 and was hooked! 2024 was, in fact, Andrew’s 21st visit to the endurance classic.

Now in his 38th season of motorsport, Andrew continues to attend races around the globe for the WEC (World Endurance Championship) as well as motorsport festivals and events such as Porsche RENNSPORT.

The inaugural PIRTEK Legends Night charity auction is being held at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa on Friday, October 25, 2024.

100% of proceeds from all auction items will be donated to Motorsport Ministries, who do an amazing job supporting the motorsport industry at all levels in Australia.

This has been made possible by the generosity of the people and businesses that have donated the incredible list of items, and by Lloyds generous “premium-free” support of the event.

This on-line auction will go live from the dinner at the JW Marriott ballroom and will be simulcast on-line by Lloyds Auctions.

The PIRTEK Legends Dinner will pay tribute to Australian Touring Car Legend Dick Johnson, who will be in attendance on the night, along with several other heroes of Australian motorsport.
