16.49ct Tanzanite and 2.81ctw Diamond 18KT White Gold Ring (GIA CERTIFIED)

One electronically tested 18KT white gold ladies' cast tanzanite and diamond ring. The featured tanzanite is set within a tiered diamond bezel, supported by an elaborate lattice under the gallery, completed by a two-and-half millimetre wide band. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "18K". Condition is new, good workmanship.

Containing: One prong set rectangular cushion mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 16.80 x 12.10 x 10.10mm, approximate weight of 16.49ct. Clarity is eye clean, type I, medium dark, strong, violetish blue colour (GIA vB 6/5), and cut is very good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded loose before setting in the GIA Laboratory, Report # 2185804421. The GIA report is attached.

The Coloured Stone Grading Report is Attached. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in grey, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, and green.

The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions, tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of colour. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning and should not be cleaned using this method. Forty-two channel set baguette cut diamonds, measuring 2.00 x 1.50 x 1.28mm (depth est.), approximate total weight of 42 Stones = 1.21ctw. Graded in the setting.
