Gold Coast Titans 2021 Indigenous Jersey Auction (A754)

The Gold Coast Titans are proud to be wearing the design of former NRL School to Work Student and Wiradjuri woman, Ash-Leigh Banks.

The jersey design represents the uniting forces behind players on and off the field. Artist Ash-Leigh Banks, says the design is about how the players represent their culture in each and every game.

“The artwork that I have created represents the players not just coming together as Torres Straight Island and Aboriginal players but as a family, they walk proudly onto the field each and every game carrying their culture on their backs,” Banks said.

"The mixture of blues in this painting represent the Torres Straight Island players and the sandy tones represent Aboriginal players, with both coming together to represent the Titans as one," she said.

This is a must have collector’s item for any Titans fan, with proceeds going directly to Titans Together and our Indigenous programs.

Using the popularity of rugby league, the Gold Coast Titans are driven to create a better life for the people of our community, driving change through the power of positive action. Titans Together actively Care, Include, Unite and Inspire the community through various programs that help marginalised communities. Funds raised for Titans Together will enable us to run various programs, including: Leagueability, Deadly Futures, NAIDOC Week events and various charity events for the Gold Coast.

Deadly Futures Program
The Gold Coast Titans Deadly Futures program is an experience for high school Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students that covers Indigenous Timelines, Cultural Identity and Career Aspirations. Delivered in partnership with the Preston Campbell Foundation, students are guided on a pathway to a great understanding and sense of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.

Students throughout the program are encouraged to discover more about their own identity to inspire them to choose a pathway to lead them to success. The program also aims to help them deal with setbacks and empower them to find their feet and continue on their journey.

NAIDOC Day
The Club has immersed themselves into the local Indigenous community during NAIDOC week by holding our first event in 2015. What started as a small celebration with community organisation and activities has now grown to an annual event attracting over 1,000 attendees.

The Titans NAIDOC Event is run in partnership with Kalwun Health Corporation and Deadly Choices on the Wednesday of NAIDOC week. Over 50 community, corporate and government organisations provide information and benefits while kids activities and various performances keep everyone entertained.
